advice for teaching kids: discipline oriented, ‘creative’ punishments, focused on keeping them still and quiet
results in my kids frustrated, crying, schoolwork not finished

what I do when I have to teach my kids: give them dried cranberries after every math problem they do, give them a nickel for every book they read, let them write while standing up
Results:schoolwork is done, kids are asking if they can read another book to me

(Also, don’t be afraid to put on a lofi playlist! Also, if there’s a worksheet with multiple things on it and it seems like the kid is overwhelmed, use paper to hide everything that isnt the current problem! Introducing positive stimulus and reducing the appearance of work load can help any kid, especially adhd ones)

Yeah! Me and one of my kids are autistic, and my other kids has ADHD. Paper covering the rest of the worksheet, taking breaks to change out of clothes that cause sensory issues, just basic accommodations are so useful.

Pretty much every ‘behavioral issue’ I’ve heard about my kids can be summed up to not letting them take care of their sensory issues
