I was watching some clips and I’m honestly about to cry over the Cluster holding back Steven while he was corrupted.

Like, the cluster was build up in it’s season as this horrific, planet destroying monster. But as it turned out, it was just a collection of broken, hurt, traumatized people. It was through Steven’s compassion, empathy, and love that he was able to talk to the Cluster, helping it reason things out, helping it understand itself. Steven helped the Cluster at it’s lowest point.

Then, years later, Steven turns into a giant monster of self-loathing and self destruction. The cluster forms to hold Steven back. And unlike in Reunited, when it formed to combat Yellow Diamond’s ship, it didn’t need to form. Yellow was directly going after the Cluster, but when Steven was rampaging the Cluster wasn’t involved at all. But it chose to help.

We have this collection of traumatized fragments of gems that was helped by Steven, wanting to help Steven in the same way when he’s at his lowest point.
